Leatherface is a horror icon, primarily known as the main antagonist in *The Texas Chainsaw Massacre* franchise. He first appeared in the 1974 film of the same name.

Portrayed as mentally challenged and easily manipulated, Leatherface is defined by his use of human skin masks and his signature weapon: a chainsaw. His appearance and actions are intended to shock and terrify.
